Voyage in the Dark

Jean Rhys`s first--and favorite--novel portrays the decline of Anna Morgan, a pretty young chorus girl touring England with a shabby troop of actors. She becomes the mistress of a rich man, has a breakdown when he deserts her, and drifts into prostitution.
